Hard start to the day – Peter broke buckle on bag, wahoo wouldn’t connect and ended up going the wrong way. Finally headed in the right direction but Peter had stomach issues.

Nice stop for focaccia and lemon soda.

Last 10 km went on forever. Was dreading a 1.6 km climb at 6.5 percent gradient. Didn’t disappoint as it was bloody hard to do at the end. Wanted to stop at the steep part and yelled out to Peter. Fortunately he didn’t stop as it forced me to go on.

Stayed at a lovely restaurant/b and b locanda del sole Nero. Lovely man served us dinner with mussels and clams and swordfish. Also had a nice cocktail by the beach. Bloody pigeons hovering every where!

Nice sleep and ready to start our ride to Pisa.
