Finally I felt pretty good on the bike. Realized how stressful it was before coming. My mom passing away on a Tuesday and we somehow had a wake on a Friday and a funeral on the Saturday. On the Tuesday on a plane and the Thursday bike packing journey started. Today is the first day I felt more like myself

Today was my kind of cycling – 18 climbs but all manageable except for at the 64 km mark – sharp road off the main road. Uneven narrow road with steep gradient that turned to gravel. And did I mention it was wet. I got off right away – Peter didn’t and ended up falling over on the top of the steep gradient. Third incident – will he get to Sicily in one piece. Keep telling him there are many stages and it’s not a race😀

Stunning views and Vidiciatico is great little hill top village. Think it must be a ski town. Sun came out just as we arrived. Great little hotel with a restaurant.

We had lunch at 54 km at the local bar. Group of old men playing cards and totally getting into it with laughter and yelling.

Was happy to arrive at final destination and walk around the town. First day I didn’t feel too overwhelmed
